Sea trails - buoy's

Postby Claudius » Sat Mar 25, 2017 3:19 am

Hello my idea is simple:

Build a special crossroad on the ground, and next build a buoy's on the water to make a path to the other crossroad.
That buoy's can be like ghost for a boat, but anyone can destroy it.

Someone can click on the crossroad when he is on the boat, or knarr, and click option to follow the trail.

That could be fun.

In last world I've seen people building a grid with obelisks placed near water. Was quite handy - allowed to shortcut without jumping out of the boat

Any chances to get this on this world?

This indeed could be fun if we had large continents or one continent with large islands. So we'd have a really, really big bodies of water apart from some lakes and rivers. That'd be cool.

I hope we'll be able to pass through them. There are some pretty narrow channels around... nothing like we used to see along world grid borders in older versions/worlds, but I seem to recall a couple that are still only about 4-5 tiles wide.
Opinions expressed in this statement are the authors alone and in no way reflect on the game development values of the actual developers.

yeah it would be hell if people blocked rivers with buoys and claimed them, like they did with animals in world 7. so they get free vandalism scents to harass you with.
Newbie and noob do not mean the same thing.

Neither do figuratively and literally.

I wanted to suggest exactly this and then found this thread via search, so I'm necroing it to hopefully draw dev attention. Out of sight, out of mind right.

I still feel it would be great even if only in shallow water.
