Suggesting gridirons

Postby Headchef » Tue Apr 11, 2017 10:53 am

My suggesting is the addition of gridirons.

Gridirons would be able to be built under any gate and what it does is prevent animals which are unleashed to walk through the gate.

You could still go through them on horses once you've mounted them, but this would imrpove quality of life for big animal pens where everytime you open it 5 sheep escape.

Of course with changing setups you can easily work around this, however I find that if you make it a fair cost this advantage may be granted.

This is what it looks like in real life.

I know that if an animal has a rope on their neck or you're on top of them it does not help them get over it. But it's a game :D

Thoughts?

tbh, I'm not sure a physical item like that would look good or really fit in the world haven's in. I'd either suggest a hearth magic on the gate to prevent animals crossing it, or a stile that can be built into roundpole fences. Stiles are basically special ladders around livestock pens so that farmers can cross but the animals inside can't.

Whatever solution is fine with me, as long as you can lift things while passing it, otherwise recovering slaughtered bodies would still be unnecessarily annoying. :D

Fill your inventory with ropes. Leash the animals that you are willing to slaughter. Teleport with them to some place. Then slaughter them there.

This is so simple and shoul've thought of it myself.. thanks shubla :D

Then I propose to change the suggestion to just the stairs/chair to get over the fence for milk barrels..

Minor, but I don't hate that. Will consider.
