Quality of animals divided

Okay currently hunting is going out in the wild with a sword, hacking and slashing animals.
While no one use bows for hunting because it lower the quality of the entire animal... so i got an idea.

First introducing a new type of weapons/damage, blunt weapons.
Instead of killing the animal these weapons will leave the animal unconscious and giving you the option to "kill" it.

Now with these blunt weapons we will have 3 types of weapons: Slash, Blunt and pierce.

Slash: Sharp tools, Swords, axes etc
Blunt: Fists, knuckles, maces, clubs, stone sling.
Pierce: Spear, Bow&Arrow, Dagger

All weapons will lower the animals quality, but differently. 50% 75% and 100%
Slash will give Hide 50% / Bone 75% / Meat 100% / Entrails & Intestine 100%
Pierce will give hide 75% / Bone 100% / Meat 100% / Entrails & Intestine 50%
Blunt will give Hide 100% / Bone 50% / Meat 50% / Entrails & Intestine 50%

The thought process here is
Slashing an animal will tear its hide apart, Damage its bones, cutting the meat, but wont make much damage on its insides.
Piercing an animal will leave small holes in its hide, barely scraping the bones, piercing the flesh, but ruining all of its insides.
Bashing an animal will leave its hide perfectly intact, but pulverize its bones, crushing the meat, and giving it internal bleeding.

All weapons got their ups and downs so there will be a more variety of weapons hunters use.
To get good bones you need archer/spear hunters
to get hides only hunters using clubs will get the best ones.
Entrails & Intestine only swords will do
Getting good meat, both slash or pierce will do the trick.

Blunt weapons is unfavored because hides is one really important aspect of the game, i also made this as realistic as i could.
If different weapons are used on a animal it will be the % of damage dealt to the animal that results its quality.

Of course this will get a lot of critics, because it makes the hunting more challenging.
I do honestly like it to be a bit hard else i would not playing this game.
But also like the game to be as realistic as possible.

Pierce would be best overall.

I understand your logic in a way but not sure if it should be implemented at this point.

Then at the same time I would suggest running over animals with horses reduces q by 90% because they're trampled by a horse hahaha.

I agree, at least, that we should at least consider the quality implications of ranged versus close combat. Not entirely sure how that should work.
