Personal challenge or achievement

Postby Woogyu » Tue Apr 25, 2017 8:59 am

like "My first tree", "Meet White dot by accident", "Gathering village members", "Own my shelter" and so on...
This is a record the achievement of my char. it proves that he(or she) is a seasoned hearthling who has experienced many things.
There may be no benefits or penalties for this. But I want to remember and record what I did. This is a sort of, personal history.
Each achievement is only once in life, so people may try to achieve many things until world end.

Sounds a lot like an "integrated tutorial" which they sorta have the starting of. I wouldn't mind it being more expansive, but I feel there should be community feedback on what goes into it.
Lucky: haven is so quirky
Lucky: can be so ugly, can be so heartwarming
Sevenless: it is life

Aren't experiences pretty much this?

Possibly. Many gamers need their Pavlovian fix to keep them satisfied in a game. Without that regular feed of gamer points, they lose interest in a game. Or maybe it's a means to measure themselves with against others... I'm sure there's a few other reasons for "doing them."

This could be a way to manage some of the new player experience and guiding through the game. It really depends on the developers and what the view on what achievements should be. Should they be easy to obtain? Should they mark milestones in play? Exploration? Attempts to do the difficult or impossible?
Opinions expressed in this statement are the authors alone and in no way reflect on the game development values of the actual developers.
