Pretty sure the purpose of the door being broken is to fight a walljump.

It's working more properly now, though. Would you rather be annoyed by walking into great halls, or be raided by a walljump and lose months of work?

Wasn't that something about the door placing you over the wall when leaving the hall, not when tryping to enter?
