since i feel my horse is the closest thing to a pet i can get (well most usefull pet)
id like to badazzle the hoofy beast just pimp my ride basicly

well these were used by early romans to protect the horses feet from roads and rocky ground, it increased thier speed and stamina thou on sand and really loose soil it had alot of problems(my suggested idea whould do the same)

so i think if we chould make and add to our horse can give more personal connection to ones horse (not to mention more reason not to just abandon it(a recent encounter with hostiles showed me thay are more then willing to ditch thier horses))

Don't really like the idea of horse shoes just because of looks, but I would like to see horses fleshed out more in general. Requiring horse shoes to prevent injury would be neat. Give horses their own wound screen and a set of wounds, some treatable, some not. Horse snaps its leg, sorry son looks like you'll have to put em down.

imo prob will barly see them is more to get people to care about thier horse and not just ditch them all willy nilly, if had a way to equip stuff then losing a horse has real impact

More horse gear in general -- saddles, barding, &c -- could definitely be fun.
