I can agree with the other items though, you should be able to bludgeon people with frying pans, volvas wands, sledgehammers, etc. Only problem from a development standpoint is you need to answer questions like "how much damage should they do?", "should they have niche combat skills attached to them, and if so, which?", "how do you balance them in a way that doesn't make other, more realistic and traditional weapons (like swords, b12s, etc) either useless or so much stronger that there isn't even a point to use / no reason not to use those more those more niche weapons".

Fair questions, but I dont think we'll ever reach a point where combat is considered balanced by everyone. Swords etc should rule, but other minor weapons should have a few unique moves for larp or tactical effects. You could use sticks to KO people without accidentally killing them; frying pans could give you some armor; sledgehammers could concentrate all their AC damage to the enemy's shield, and so on.
In MB's multiplayer the best weapon was the 2-handed hammer, which would break through blocks and instakill practically anyone. Despite that, only few players used them in matches. Why? The same with haven when archery mattered: bows could cause a lot of damage, but most still chose to stick to swords and axes. Why?
Maybe sometimes numbers matter less than we think.

Geez.
