Hereditary Traits.

Postby The_Lich_King » Fri Jun 09, 2017 10:03 pm

I know this probably has been suggested before but i would love to see hereditary traits. How i think it should work is when you make your first character on the world it will randomly generate with certain traits, if the character dies then the next hearthling has a 90% chance to inherit each trait and a 10% chance to get a new trait in its place. Also some traits could be gained. For example: if a hearthling spends like 300 hours total time in a snow biome then they get an adaptation that makes them run faster and build faster and lose less stamina in snow biomes, HOWEVER you can only have one biome adaptation at one time, and a biome adaptation would have a 100% chance to be inherited.
Traits i have thought of:
Brawny +10 str
Beutiful +10 Char
Vigilant + 10 Perc
Dextrous + 10 Dex
Agile +10 Agi
Sturdy + 10 Const
Strong headed + 10 Psy
Iron willed + 10 Will
Genious + 10 Int
Quick Thinker +10 Int +10 Ua
Fast + 10 Agi + 10 Ua
Hard Hitter + 10 Melee + 10 Smithing
Natural Tracker + 10 Perc +10 Stealth +10 Survival + 10 Exploration
Natural Hunter + 10 MM +10 Perc + 10 Stealth
Lone Hunter +100 Stealth
Celtic Fortitude +15 Farming + 5 Const
Nordic Fortitude + 20 Str

Post more ideas for traits if you come up with more or better ones.

Perhaps very similar traits should be mutually exclusive. (i.e. can't have brawny and vigilant, but could maybe have brawny+fast or hard hitter).

Yeah this right here and also make it so if you live in a village then you have a small chance to lose one trait when you die in favor of another trait that the rest of the villagers have until you are completely assimilated. Like if one villager has a trait there is a 0.0001% chance that you will inherit that trait when you die, if 2 villagers have the same trait there is a 0.001% chance you will inherit it and so on and so forth.

Very real risk for that. Would perhaps not mind something similar if one could simply pick one. Astrological signs could also be cool.
