Because they're cool, and also for faster overland movement. The cost is that you need two horses to pull it and the chariot has a cart-sized hitbox of it's own. The benefit is significantly reduced pony power drain, especially at higher speeds. Can carry two people, or one person and one liftable object.

Assuming one could throw spears from the chariot, this would go along nicely with that horseback lancing suggestion from a few days ago.

also mabye highly resits rawhide, and slowed in sand, i will love the day i can drive one around with an archer/or spear chucker passanger (approch turn around mid turn shoot arrows/ chuck spears) the classic chariot tatic
