Area select mining

Postby Massa » Thu Jun 15, 2017 8:07 pm

Farming gets it, paving gets it, surveying gets it, everything gets area select harvesting/interaction.

Why does mining still get the whole 1 tile treatment? It's really just tedious after a point.

Because mining isn't really something you want to do AFK.

There's a difference between AFK and having to click every tile.

Because while harvesting, paving surveying, You can't get a troll and it is not dangerous as minning.

It is a choice to use a feature, not an obligation. You can harvest select through the adventure menu, or right click all your crops, but you area mine instead.

If you're afraid of a troll, don't use it. But I've got an assload to mine and don't feel like clicking EVERY TILE.

With that argument the area operation on farming and landscaping should be removed too, as someone/something could come by and kill you.

Bottom line: if you want to AFK you'll have to live with the consequences, but that's IMHO no good reason to force us to click every tile.

Some people would make some kind of balance argument for AFK area mining but that's stupid.

This isn't runescape and the process is just a nuisance.

I believe Porus Pasta already has this feature, not sure if that works on Amber too.

i mine using amber/purus pasta/prime and they all have the feature to shift click an area with the mining cursor is displayed
it auto mines the green area in x by y format and drinks as it mines, there is an option to auto drop mined stone/ore
i mine a long corridor while holding shift click down and clicking one tile at a time then hold shift and drag down the line to widen it. and do watch out for the mining dust stuff, this way you can easily see 3 tiles of dust and know for certain which tile will cause a cave in
