Experience points

getting experience points is annoying. so how about this?

-make an item such as a curio or something that, instead of giving LP you could gain experience points, we could have something like the study desk but call it book shelf? the way it would work is the items that give experience still have a mental weight and a timer and can be placed in the book shelf and study report. (in all honesty if i have to go run around, fall off cliffs, hit my head on willows, ect. please at least let me do or look for something that i know i will get experience points for. Yes i know there are quests but just no.

-make it so when ever you kill something you get a certain amount of experience points, depending on how strong the animal is (or player?)

Experience points and the way they currently work prevents botting. Your idea ruins that. Oops. Plus, it just seems conceptually stupid to have two layers of what's essentially LP gain centered around the same interface and mechanics, then; why not just simplify it to only be LP, then? XP would be utterly meaningless. Poor idea, IMO.

all i am suggesting is making it more rewarding and gaining a better game experience, i doubt ppl enjoy just walking around doing random stuff that prevents them from doing a goal they previously were trying to achieve before they ran out of exp, get bored and quit.

and i highley highley doubt devs give 2 shits about botting. thats not even the issue. games have ways to prevent botting look at runescape..

I've never had a problem with getting xp on my main character, and the new permadeath rework mean that crafting/combat alts aren't as important. The system is meant to award you for doing varied tasks, I get at least a thousand just doing the daily chores. Unlike Runescapes approach of trying to detect and ban bots, Haven wants to make them less attractive by improving the client.

For example, in legacy vanilla players would have to individually sow and harvest each and every tile. If you had a 25x25 flax field, that's ~2500 clicks to sow and harvest it (625 tiles, 2 clicks to select seeds, 1 to plant, 1 to harvest) Now if you want to do the same in hafen, it's ~8 clicks, and much more user-friendly than writing a script to do it.

Obviously there will always be botting, no matter how many countermasures are in place people will find a way around them and it'll just take up developer time that could be better spent adding new features and improving the game.

i guess its just not as fun with alts that you only wanna develope combat on. my main has plent of exp as well, its just not as fun to farm and craft as it is to hunt and kill things. :P

The precise idea of them is to be a bit of a pain to get predictably.
