Sugestion - Cave-ins Material

Postby Etério » Thu Jul 13, 2017 8:59 pm

Hey everyone! I was thinking about cave-ins and what they leave behind, so I came up with this idea. What if cave-ins rumble were "chipable" and what if they dropped a curiosity?
You see, when a cave collapses it is always a bad thing, right? But you could learn something from that and here is where the curiosity comes in. To obtain this curiosity you would need to chip that rumble (if you suvived the collapse, of course hehehe) and from that chipping you would abtain mostly rock ( the same type of rock of the surroundings), maybe soil (from grinded rock or even from the soil above if we are talking about the very first level of a cave) and a small chance to get the curiosity itself. This curiosity would be a cracked rock (your character have found why this tile collapsed and now can learn something from that) and it's quality would be based on Masonry. The name for this item is up for the developers as they can come up with something cleverer than I can ;) .

With this addition, you could clean up the mess from a cave-in AND obtain something cool to ramp up you character. And even better, all RP-friendly!

What you guys think?

I see alts with pickaxes marching into the mines to get their heads deformed by intent.

Let them have their fun. It would not woth. I mean, the curiosity would be low quality.

I didn't understand this moment... If the curiosity is good, then there will be alts spam, as written by Granger. And if something useless, then there is already cave dust.
Or have I missed something?

Really? I Can't see idiots throwing themselves against cave walls just to get a curiosity. And by the way, im thinking in a curiosity slightly better than catgold i guess.

Your idea is shit, -1
Cave-ins are meant to be a form of punishment for players who make the decision to mine without a support or ignore cavedust warnings. Any sort of reward from them defeats the point.
Also, catgold over q100 is a great filler curio. Breaks over 100 Lp an hour, perfect for when you can't supply enough top tier curios for yourself.

You got a point, but your manners are pathetic...

Indeed! I would understand if you suggested adding a game event with experience points related to the crash in the caves (dodged or fell under the collapse). But the meaning of "cool curiosity of low quality" I don't understand, unfortunately.

Or even low-quality, but with slag:

I could get behind an experience event for cave-ins. That's reasonable enough.

I like it that cave ins are strictly negative events.
