Adding fuel permissions change

Postby Jackwolf » Sun Jul 16, 2017 9:34 am

Would it be possible for this to be changed from "rummaging" to "theft" or "trespassing" on the permissions list?

With it being under the 'rummaging' list of actions it makes it possible for someone to lift up a cauldron and walk away with it instead of simply using it.

The reason I ask is because I've set up a common area in my village with things for people to use (anvil, meat grinder, cauldron, etc). Rummaging has been off in it so that things could be used but not walked away with, but it makes using the cauldron a bit difficult if it someone accidentally leaves it lit.

If there's a gate on this area with a pclaim you can just not give them theft and it's fine..? But tbh if you worry about people taking a cauldron just make sure the community one is mid q easy to replace fo you and high q is for those you trust or something along those lines...

It's such a dry thing to just go and steal a cauldron like that you have to be quite weird irl imo so doubt it happens often/quick xD

Rummaging determines if you can pick things up, not theft. Which is my part of my reason for making the thread.

No this is not possible since you have not permitted them to steal and therefore they will get an error message when trying to leave the claim. Yes they can lift but it will be theft once they try to take it out of the claimed area.

Because of visitor debuff still impossible even if they have theft skill.

In principle, the use of other people's objects could be organized according to the principle of a barter table (Rent). Even with the prices of use (Use instead of Buy).
Excuse me, I don't speak English.

Except it's not impossible, because I've tested it with the field cairns and they've been able to walk both out of the field cairn and the village in general with it...

Do it with personal claim and a gate. Field cairns kinda suck in my opinion. With pclaim and gate you're fine.

That sounds as if you've set your permissions wrong in one way or another, because I just tested this, and it very much seems to work as intended. Village claim and field cairn set to allow rummaging and trespass. People in the group can carry the thing around, but not off the field cairn's claim.

Not sure, thus, that I understand the original request.
