Everything on the list, as far as I know, is planned to come back in some form.

I'd like to see it back poste haste, too, to easy some of the farming tasks... like having to carry a bucket instead of a scythe.

Where actually is the problem?
Harvest the field with the scythe, put it away (into the belt) and equip a bucket to collect the seeds, drop the bucket into a container and equip tsacks to collect the product (possibly skip the bucket for smaller fields and stick to tsacks) - scales way better than seedbags did back then.

Well.. no... if you harvest wheat by hand, with a bucket in hand, seeds go directly in the bucket, if you gather with scythe seeds can go only in inventory, making gathering with scythe actually more tedious than doing by hand.
Then there's another thing: old seed bags could contain even different seeds, wich is good if you just want to sow a few crops of one type.

The problem is you need two passes over the field instead of one, and that's assuming you can collect the rest of it in a second pass over the field. Some farming tasks require 3 passes even. First to harvest, second to dump it all into stockpiles as you pick up the remainder, 3rd to move the stockpiles out of the way. Or you spend a lot of time running out of the field to dump your inventory into a stockpile.

I'd like to see farming simplified to the point I only need one pass over the field, exception being if I'm running large farm areas, say a 50x50 area of flax or such... could probably even shrink that down and say more than a 10x10 area is more than you should be able to do as a single pass.

well.. that may be doable if we could harvest with a wheelbarrow, so the piled up items goes inside it (but again, no seeds as you cannot hold bucket and wheelbarrow).

Will fix eventually, but that actualizes the question of on which categories small item containers should operate, and the requisite categorization of items, which is a hard precedent to set.
