Up until yesterday I thought that nothing had changed and that nidbanes could still successfully kill a perp, but it turns out that it is actually impossible to kill a person with a nidbane (without a little cheese).

What is the point if they can't kill the person? You don't get their gear or anything, so nidbanes are basically like sending a concussion towards the perpetrator; not an actual retribution.
Nidbanes are little bitches and you can literally just stack up con to tank 5 of them throughout the night and ignore them completely. You don't even have to log on during the nidbane's wait-period if you don't want to.

Unless the person is outside of their base and within range of their walls, there is no way that you will ever kill a full-health character. If the person is standing inside of a house or out of render of people who can agro the bane repeatedly like this, they are just KO'd and the banes disappear. Notice how many times we needed to KO the guy in the video to actually kill him. Normal banes would never get that many opportunities to deal damage.

I didn't manage to test with a murder scent so hopefully those banes can finish the job :?:

murder nidbums should be able to kill. I feel having theft/tresspass/etc nidbums with the license to kill would be OP

on top of that however, I would also like to see the KO system be less forgiving so murders are actually semi possible with some work

Seems pretty bullshit that you should be able to murder someone because you got together some wax and metal. Seems more like wounds lack permanency, which is similar to the complaints people have with PvP. In which case a more robust wound system would fix both.

Also the whole spamming nidbanes on people early on in the world was cancer. Getting multiple waves of nidbanes daily was not fun. Nidbanes are stupid in their current iteration and need a whole overhaul.

i agree that nidbanes need to be more worthwhile. the people that hate em are the same people that love fucking with people that stand no chance against them.
Newbie and noob do not mean the same thing.

It is definitely not that simple. Nidbanes have seen a fair amount of use in faction warfare and such, and when a big faction spams series of powered, high quality nidbanes against you they aren't exactly tame.
