Make -25% Integrity Locks Break

Postby Wonderful » Thu Aug 17, 2017 11:05 pm

There's a lot of Knarrs and Palisade that are in the world that exist as part of abandoned claims and whatever else. I thought about the breaking palisade by hand idea and thought it had merit, by it didn't make a lot of sense in the long run. I feel like locks losing their fortitude with decay made more sense. If you go up to an abandoned house complex in real life, the mechanism behind a lock can rust out or disassemble.

+And as a benefit people who lose their master keys to their Knarrs could stop bugging admins for help and could get to work busting that lock and making repairs.

Having locks decaying away would probably be ok. I have seen at least one Knarr I believe to be abandoned.

Locks could decay and then you could pick them, maybe leaving behind a scent.

Hearthling locks are made out of wood though!
But wood rots too.

After a recent post in HDI, would this be relatively easy to do? Maybe just have the lock break after X days of it not being used. (30ish?)

What's the point of the expense of a knarr if you aren't going to use it?
