Development Critique: Dev's View On the Game

Postby LadyGoo » Tue Aug 29, 2017 7:06 pm

A lot of people are feeling frustrated that their suggestions seem to have no response from the devs, or the ideas being implemented way too late (when they have quit). It is quite hard to generate ideas and help with outlining the gameplay problems without knowing the dev's point of view: what is their ideal gameplay is like, what they want to achieve and etc.

It would be great if J&Lo would initiate a Q&A stream dedicated to the future development plans and vision.

I'd really enjoy a monthly/bi monthly/ regular interval QA. Doesn't even have to be on stream. I'd prefer it on the forums tbh.

Just a dedicated hour or two to see where the devs stand on ideas. Basically an "in the pipe" but longer.

Would work well if we set up a "question" thread a week prior to the "answers" thread so Loftorb could answer questions at their leisure.
Have a question? Need help? Tired of people asking questions? Haven and Hearth Wiki.

Would be cool, I come up with a lot of wild outta nowhere ideas but when I really sit down and try I don't really know what to go with that would potentially help (though there is some thay put out there for idea and opinion (hand bash Pali, others))

I'd prefer forums post too, rather than stream, forums post is straight forward and easy to fix if mistake streams can lead to misinformation if out of date or has mistake of some sort... Plus I ccant hear well and there usually not captions lol

true even now i see it... people love to jump the gun

mabye thay chould clearly mark them as only speculation

and mabye sometimes have fun with it, asking for ideas or options on wild possiablitys so when see it its not always clear its in the works or real options (id imagine its not every week or even every month thay'll need ideas and stuff so keeping the pattern keeps us on top our idea game and creates a routine lol

... but idk hemp harvest was particularly great this week lol on 2nd thought just seems like more work for devs distracting them

IMHO a more frequent participation of the devs in C&I (instead of taking a day every some months bumping several hundred topics with would be cool or we did that or no) could bring the feedback needed to improve our feedback.

I would understand should they be reluctant to share the whole vision (to not see it ripped off by another product with a bigger team).

~10 years of development, ~200 players online. I really think that this is the last thing they should be afraid of.

I bet that they are not going to answer this thread. Or if they do, it will take months. And result is thgat nothing will change.

This it's only cause the "technical" part of the game is not super modern, easy and fun for 2017. Not for the idea behind it.
I mean, if this game would have at least 100 people working on it, modern graphic and gameplay, controller support, action combat and that stuff ... it would be super popular.
But again, here the dualistic aspect of it .... if it would be that way, then it would not be H&H anymore, cause it would become a commercial product, with only money in mind, and to make enough money to support it they should change a lot of the game, and it would become a shitty MMO like many others out there.

So better like it is right now, but with a Soul behind it.

P.S. Only commercial MMO game that makes a lot of money and has a soul behind it it's Maplestory to me, even if a different kind of MMO .... and I just tried the new one, MS2, it's awesome.

You expect too much from a game running by 2 people.
