Forest Camouflage cape

Postby replikant8 » Fri Sep 08, 2017 10:50 pm

Hello.

My idea is to introduce an early game cape that would also help new players a bit.

A cape made from mulberry leaves and strings:
- occupies 1L and 8L slots
- gildable, survival attribute
- reduces chance of being attacked by aggresive wild animals

What do you guys think? Regards :).

gildable + survival attribute already seems fine.

It's like the best idea I ever heard! :)

I feel like it needs to require squirrel hide or something else that is not obtainable within 5 minutes of playing. Hide has to dry at least, your version says you just grab some leaves and string once your perception is at 3, feels bad.

You have a point. I think limiting strings to hide straps only would solve the problem though. Possible gilding and survival attribute is fine in my opinion. Given that it occupies 1L and 8L slots, you wouldn't want to wear it over bat wing.

Well, there are pros and cons:
- safe for foraging and wandering around without being extra stressed;
- additional item/clothing/distinguishable specialization

Cons:
- botting made easier, since the major problem for the forager alts is dealing with the wild animals.

Only when the botter sucks at coding.

Maybe not from mulberry though, there are plenty of trees without any function so some of them could be purposed for this. For a camouflage to work it needs to be a mix of colors, so why not require leafs from 3-4 different trees?

That's a great idea! I picked a leaf that was already in game (maple leaf didn't fit for me). Introduction of new leaves would make sense if such cape was in the game.

On further thinking: to keep the development demands low it also could be made out of tree seeds (and some string to hold them together), that would keep the amount of ingame objects that need to be added low (down to the equipment item only).

such cape would be a bad addition as it would be incredibly easy to achieve and makes game too easy too fast.

Make the cape include silk cloth, hard leather, laurel leaf or something so you have to actually play the game before you get to hide from animals.

But don't think it should be in game in general, but if it would get in at least don't make it dirt cheap..
