Baby ducks and swans would be cool to have.

How would you catch a live swan though?

There's an elephant in the room that needs to be addressed.

Do you have any idea how much fucking easier this would make farming for high quality swan feathers? Anyone with enough patience can breed q200+ swans for their feathers in order to make the most broken Hussar's Wings ever.
If you have nothing to make, then maybe it is still something. Why? Because you possess the idea that you wish to make something from nothing.

I see it as KO the swan, crop its wing feathers and put them inside of a fence. They may lay eggs that will hatch into chicks later on.

Nice how you ignore the runaway quality concerns of others.

I agree that we should NOT be able to domesticate swans.

Clipped wing swans don't give feathers, problem solved.

LMAO, you're saying it like there is no way to control the quality of the domesticated swan (or goose, whatever). Your argument collapses once someone would suggest ways to nerf it.

But does that really work? Even if the initial swans clipped and captured for breeding don't give feathers, their offspring eventually will. Barring that, perhaps swan taming will need its own skill as well, much like silk farming. After all, it's one thing to capture a swan and stuff it in a box. But it may require special care in order for them to breed.
