in Chicago speak it's commonly referred to as a "deer stand"

basically a platform where you could hunt animals on a raised platform and they ignore you.

would suggest that this thing could be kind of like siege weps in the fact it would need a drying time and/or glue to repair it after each assembly.

this could have pvp potential for future sieges as this can be placed next to walls and the wall rendered no longer a projectile obstacle.

also a possibility to be able to use on existing trees and give the player stealth depending on it's quality and the player's stealth VS. the animal's/player's perception.

this already exists if youre using a missile weapon.

step 1 : get branches, leaves, anything that can be stockpiled.
step 2: surround yourself in 2-3 layers of stockpiles.
step 3: wait for literally an hour before anything comes your way, then watch it run away and you never actually get a kill, unless you 1 shot it.
