Slimes don't attack you if you're wearing/are around light?

Miner helmets with a lit candle would actually have a use outside of larping, and so would building fires in areas you'd like to stay and mine at

Light could stop them from multiplying while in combat...

I think that makes less sense than them simply staying away from you if you have a flame

Quite possible, but does it always need to make sense?

It would need to be a desirable addition for people to actually use light in the caves and tbh the slimes splitting isn't even that big of an issue

The real problem is how infested lower levels are with them. We need a better way to move around down there and light sources have always been pointless in the past

FYI: my initial comment wasn't ment as your idea sucks, do this instead but as a possible addition.

Thinking further: should light work similar to a batcape (they simply ignore characters that are lit) or should it repell them actively (like auto-'shoo' when they get within a certain range) ? The latter migh be fun to watch (especially when watching another character accidently dropping the torch)...

I'd like dark caves ... dark for real. So you little exploiters cannot do anything about that :D .... if not being ate from slimes :P

i think the auto shoo would be a cool mechanic personally bc think about it. they are slimes that live in cave. they wouldn't be use to light sources

Autoshoo would be cool

Better light sources could increase the radius

I just wonder how people with shit pcs would handle 12+ slimes running across their screen at once
