A special credo for rare profession
Here some bonuses that can be implemented
1. Increase medical herb gain on gathering/pottering.
2. Increase chance to find rare medical herb
3. Allow pot some medical herbs, that are unpotable(i.e. bloodsteern)
4. Increased HP restore when using medicine
5. Quality bonus of crafted medicine
6. Allow crafting some medicine that can be used on other characters.
7. Allow use some usual medicine on other characters
8. Remove bad effects of some medicine, i.e. nasty wart
9. Allow some craft that heals some SHP.

Maybe have it rely on Mystic and Farmer?

would be cool, maybe add a hearth magic that uses a good amount of exp but treats one wound completely?

There should definitely be on-field SHP healing stuff to use in long, drawn-out combat scenarios.

Maybe make it "expensive" to create, by using a gold bar or nugget.

I realize that this late in the world most people can easily get access to either of those, but at least early world it'll be hard to come by.

rather than gold, Some metal ions, such as silver, copper and zinc, which possess antibacterial and antifungal properties were used for medical purposes for a long time. So I would suggest silver if you wanted to make it more difficult to obtain or as a higher Q and copper for a lower q if that makes sense.

Unlikely, as it would enable King of the Woods massproduction.
9. Allow some craft that heals some SHP.
Please no, as it would enable insta-heal while in combat.

The rest looks reasonable.

What's bad in that?
I believe you are in a pink glasses looking for a world, where every recipe is meaningful. But i dont even look on recipes, if i cant mass product it.
We are in Haven & Hearth, where you need to "supermassproduce" everything to conquer with others. And when i say that, i mean you need eat hundreds of pies every day, to make actual combat stats about 1000+, to conquer in PvP. Same for crafting, you need ~300+ crafting stats for your crafter, to conquer in quality with others.

Please no, as it would enable insta-heal while in combat.

But what's the problem?
1. Forbid using in combat.
2. Forbid moving while using.
3. Using lasts 5-10 sec.

There are big difference for patches and possible mistakes before "not implement" and "lets think first, then implement", but if devs will always choose first i'm cottaged is there any sence of any other patches
