Cave Hermit Credo: Another meta-defining

Postby DaniAngione » Thu Sep 28, 2017 1:13 am

Alright... so now you can potentially study 15% faster on L5. Something that piles up the sooner in the game you acquire it.

Which means that... Once more a Credo is meta-game defining for the more hardcore/fighters/etc.
It also means that they will want to spend as much time as possible in L5 caves, basically killing (even more) any surface activity or interactions as it will feel like time wasted.

I dunno, those are all things that only become so deterministic because of the lack of some sort of stat caps or - at least - PVP combat stats caps. With some sort of limitation, these would be important but not SO important as the end point would be the same, so you could have variations on the means.
But it is the never ending possibility of stat increasing that makes it so important to always keep ahead and henceforth making certain credos (which were made to add variability and different "ways" to the game) actually become obligations and the new "thing you MUST do".

Anyway, just a few random thoughts, not really "Ideas", just "Critique".

Other than that, keep up the good work :3

yeah i don't like those kind of buffs too .... leaving a char in a certain spot to have some kind of buff doesn't sound good to me ... it leads even more to the usual dumb behaviors, alts and so on ... and to hide people even more like you said.
P.S. maybe will make sense in the future when the full militarization of caves is in place .... but idk.

lol cry some more. if someone is willing and able to take the time and complete 5 separate credos and THEN finish the Cave Hermit credo, they've earned it.

one clause: the mechanic which allows ancestors to inherit credos as well as resetting the quest counter needs to be re-examined and fixed before World 11.

It's not crying. It's constructive criticism. ;)

Unlike your reply, which is the typical hurr-durr of elitism when trying to maintain the status-quo

if we scrutinize the whole game around "what will the elite factions do with this new mechanic?" we're just pandering to their level.

my actual, real concern about this cave hermit credo wasn't "how much LPs will the elite homosexual factions get!!1!", but instead what would happen if a belligerent cave hermit started summoning dozens of cave trolls underground and creating an army.

An army that won't leave L5 and will only attack other hermits doing the same xD

I mean, you can now have trolls as bouncers for your L5 vault, which sounds funny.

But what concerns me the most are the already OP mining bots that will now farm 349 trolls daily for factions :D

In case you're able to automate trolls the slimes shouldn't be the problem.

Cave slime don't touch advanced players, in fact my mediocre combat char can just spam full circle on them happily on l5 without harm - it wouldn't be a difficult bot to write - I thought aggressive trolls were designed to stop bots in the first place? IS Jorbtar perhaps assuming that mining bots are no longer a problem because of improved automation in the client?
