Hearth magic to get wayled on a path

I think this could be useable.

And leave a metric ton of scents in the process?

only if the start point/end point is on claimed land :D but i see what you are saying. so hearth magic wouldn't leave any scent if used on a road that you didt have perms on?: but would cost a good amount of exp

I think this is a cool idea, its quite frustrating travelling and not being able to use roads unless you're at the start.
Its the sort of thing hearth magic is good for - saving you time but not really breaking anything.

Back when you could legitimately waylay on roads, and roads were not usurped by village teleportation, they were an excellent source of both PvP and player interaction.

At least that was my experience. Our enemies that had less luck on these road battles may disagree.

People already just put small objects on them to waylay them if they so choose. I guess a hearth magic for this wouldn't...hurt? But people would just use it to put a sign to waylay it so their friends can use it. In which case you just use alts to waylay to avoid the XP cost and blah blah. Should just allow self way-laying. It makes sense that if there's a path, you're not required to take the whole path.

Suggestion isn't ment to waylay someone else (which already can be done by placing objects) but to get the buff yourself so you're able to travel the road, starting in the middle of it.

Ahhh, I see.
I could support this.

I also found that making crossroad/stops on roads was quite efficient.
But then, we weren't bothered by leaving scents.
A lawful method is good.

It's only ment as a fix till teleportation is replaced with a more reasonable mechanic (that also works for wagons).
