Remove long-duration study quests from credos

Postby Granger » Fri Sep 29, 2017 10:53 pm

It's nice that you don't want quests to be 'go kill 10 rats', but to replace these with 'wait for one to die of old age'...?

Thus please remove credo quests that are 'study <curiostity>' for everything that takes unreasonably long.
I get it that you want timegates, but a quest that boils down to <2 minutes creating something and then having to sit on your hands for the next 24-48h isn't fun.

And no, 'go siege some faction icicle claims to speed that up' is no acceptable solution but another reason to change this.

I agree, sometimes you get ones that want you to study two of the same lengthy curio and my heart sinks when they come up ... in the meantime though (taking the view they decided to change it) you could just use the hearth magic Contemplation & Meditation, it's not that expensive in terms of xp cost, 1500 ... it's what I've been doing anyway, I always seem to have a lot of xp and you can use it more than once on the same curio.

I'd be fine with the long duration credos if we could do multiple credos at the same time.
Timegating credos is sorta shit when we keep getting new ones every week...

I say we should be able to work towards multiple credos at once like questing. I'd stream credo progression every day if I could actually get anywhere with it but once you hit a timegated credo task it's game over for the rest of the day

I've got the lore experience of seeing the dryad atm for the mystic credo, it's been a wk so far with plenty of long treks in the forests and no such luck ... :( ... I'd rather have studied a curio tbh.

I'm waiting for the mystic miner credo to ask me to study a troll skull x3

Disagree. I think there should be timegates, and I also think that there should be some game and consideration given to conceding tough quests and roll for easier ones.

To me the option of abandoning a quest just feels like giving up ... I don't seem to be able to do it. And with the credo quests I read somewhere it sets you back rather than just replace ... I've not abandoned one so not entirely sure what happens, but that doesn't feel like a viable option, esp when the same quest could pop up again later.

I get the timegate reasoning though tbh.

No objection to that, just to the length of the individual ones.

'Kill a troll' would be something I consider a (to) tough one that deserves clicking abandon.
The choice to roll for something easier should stem from a quest being overly difficutly, not because it is just boring as of a long wait.

Someone with a life that only enables one session per day shouldn't be told to go away and come back in several days.
'Come back tomorrow' might be reasonable, so that there is at least a daily feeling of progress...

Curios are fine, at least you know just how timegated you are. With experience quest there's no telling, and it took me like a RL week to get an experience as basic as "Sensing the Beast". And abandoning doesn't do shit, because there's more than 50% chance your next quest will be an experience as well.
