Creative mode

Postby SlicingTheMoon » Sat Oct 28, 2017 8:12 pm

Simply a client where you have (for example) a 1000x1000 Map
where building stuff is free, everything breaks in one hit, no quality, you cant die, dont need energy or stamina, also no hostile animals.
I wish to be able to create the ultimate base and be able to show it off so i could get some followers for a village in the next world.
I have a lot of great ideas but no way to try them out.

Sass aside, this suggestion came up minutes after the valhalla update and a few people developed upon it, this is a good opportunity to bump it again. There is even actual scandinavian lore for a creative mode afterlife. While an entire separate server as you describe wouldn't be too appealing, a small builder's valhalla could be interesting and not so disruptive.

Yes, +1 to me!

We should definitely have a Valhalla equivalent for crafters/builders. :D

The ability to modify the world exists in the client, by effectively ignoring the server and creating own data structures.
There is no support at all for any interaction though (including movement), so it would be an optically nicer city planner than the usual spreadsheet/image used for that purpose.

What i want to make is more than what one player can make alone, i do also work about 12h every day and i am too exhausted on weekends.
So yea i do not have the "time" to put in all that work.

Sins running a server cost a bit for the upholders, i was more thinking of a Valhalla single player game, you download it and you can play to build on it freely offline.

As someone who DMs a DnD campaign, this would be a dream come true. Being able to create battlemaps and towns/cities with Havens assets would be pretty awesome.

Though I don't see Jorbtar 'wasting' time on such a thing, it would be a nice-to-have later on once all the major development plans are complete.

As Granger said, the assets are already there in the client, you just need the knowledge to use them without the game server. Iirc there was a 'city planner' program released during W9 that was basically creative mode, I don't remember what happened to it.
