basements and cold decay

Can we get basements to not decay snow stockpiles?

Alternatively, we could make some nifty magical item to be crushed with a Dark Heart, a few dreams and snow in the basement, enabling the storage of cold objects.

No decay at all might be a bit overpowered, slowing it might be more reasonable.
An ice box that is fueled with snow to protect its inventory from thawing had been suggested in the past.

I have had the same thought. Wouldn't mind.
