Level cap

Postby skltnk00 » Fri Nov 17, 2017 5:12 pm

Have been playing H&H in 2010 and decided to revisit it years since.

Now i'm playing this game for a few weeks straight 15 hours a day and i can honestly say it is absolutely best thing i've played in my entire life. Briliant in almost every single way. Brought a few friends to play with me - they love it just like i do.

However...

Why does this amazing game still doesn't have some kind of a level cap?

I'm not against unlimited progress. But the gap between abilities of different players is insane.

Some players are insects, some players are gods. It makes interaction between players weird. It makes the game feel broken. Makes death feel random...
It's also simply unnatural.

I'm not only speaking for myself - it seems all the people i encounter in game would be very glad if the game had this thing "fixed".

This is exactly the reason why i quit playing before. Sad to admit but it's also the reason why i feel the same today :(

It's really a bummer once you realized it.

The game is almost perfect in everything...but this.
Please share your opinion.

well there was an experiment with 300 stat cap, everyone goes mad
actually i agreed that this is too low cap

now - many players ask 1000 cap(some people already has 10 000)

But anyway this might happen only in a new world - nobody knows when

I agree with you, the level cap it's a problem that should be fixed , i would say 1000 max would be the best

The main problem is that people feel like capping stats means there's nothing to do when you reach the cap. To be fair that's mostly true, but the answer is making an actual endgame rather than extending the midgame to eternity. And having no stat caps makes it impossible to implement endgame, because in PvE you can just outgrind any threat and PvP is a straight up competition of who spent more time grinding (or more likely botting the grind).

Anyway, personally I'd like the cap at ~500 and maybe a buff to gildings across the board so you can theoretically get to 1000 with good gear.

A level cap probably wouldn't change a whole lot without rules against multiboxing.

You'd likely just have people running multiple characters simultaneously instead of having Godzilla characters.

Maybe aging or losing stats due to inactivity could fix the problem with nothing to do. Or even dying because of old age.

500 - 1000 with gildings really appeals to me.

That would be a step in the right direction, since currently people are running multiple Godzilla characters.

That's better because it's at least managable.

I guess yeah. It might also just mean that people with the most/strongest computers do significantly better then everyone because they will be able to make more characters.

It would also mean there really couldn't be endgame still, since you could just Zerg it down in a lot more organized way than if you had one person per character.

Unless of course they added artificial caps on numbers of players for that sort of thing.
