Pockets and Pouches

The gilding system is really nice, I like customisable gear in games, but I have a few ideas for extend it to some more items. Namely belts. Pockets and Pouches are gild items that can be attached to various clothing items to add extra inventory slots for specific items. They would work just like standard gilds so you can choose between more inventory space or more stats. They also give belts an additional use for holding some of the pockets and pouches. I also thought of a few individual equip items that fill a similar purpose. This would also open belts to all other gild items. Multiple of the same pouch can be used to gild the same item at a decrease in gild chance.

Tool Hook: A 2x1 (wide) container for holding any tools equipable in the hand slots. I understand belts already do something similar but I think unifying that into this system would work. Fits onto any belt or coat.
Purses: Purses would come in various sizes from plain cloth up to silk and can only hold coins. Fits onto any belt.
Hidden Pocket: A pocket hidden deep in the folds of your coat, the item stored here is protected from being taken if you are knocked out. It can only hold a single 1x1 item though, so some more valuable things can not be hidden here. Fits only onto a coat.
Potion Pouch: A bag filled with tinctures and treatments, only medical items can be stored here. Fits onto a belt or coat.
Planter's Pouch: Can hold up to 1000 seeds to aid in planting larger fields. Fits onto a belt.
Arrow Loop: A strap attached to your backpack that can store a small number of arrows. Not as many as a quiver but can be attached to a leather backpack.

Log Pack: An alternative to the backpack which grants a large (6x4 wide) inventory in addition to the main inventory that can only hold wooden boards and blocks.
Backalley Merchant's Coat: A bulky coat that houses a number of hooks, pockets, and pouches that one might expect a "legitimate businessman" to wear while making his shady transactions. This coat has a higher than normal gild chance, but can only be gilded with pouches and pockets.
Utility Belt: This belt looks like something a rugged outdoorsman might wear. There's a place for everything! Has a higher than normal gild chance but can only be gilded with pockets and pouches.

I already have an inventory larger than a cupboard, I don't know that we need more inventory size or an overly complicated set of inventory style gildings.

I do sort of like the idea of a different kind of backpack though, it'd be good to have options for the back slot, like a shield on the back that provides no inventory but some armour, or a water bladder that holds an amount of liquid (that I guess would have to be more than what you could hold in the inventory that you'd lose by not wearing a backpack).
Oh boy, here I go cheesemaking again...

Currently, low inventory space is a frustration for everyone. Lessening it a bit is a reward. Paying real money, discovering new jobs when you just started a new world, doing a very long and frustrating Credo, those are the actions that are currently rewarded with a tiny bit of more inventory space. You can also temporarily get more space by using vehicles, with very limited choices for crossing from land to water and from traveling on land out of the roads. Wagons stop into every bush, carts too, boats make you slower than you thought it was possible... And no vehicle can teleport with you, except the lowest space of them all, the boat.

So, taking this into account, you want to reward players with more personal inventory space for what? For gilding? Are you sure? Gilding instead of real money on a monthly basis? Cool!
Wastelands. Ruins everywhere from proud civilizations, with today's survivors scavenging whatever they can carry even if they can't even use it. Eating rats cooked alive is OK for everyone. Walking around naked is natural, since very few have time to waste in getting a rag to cover their deep wounds. And the game is only Alpha.

That's only because you can pick it up and carry it, but you're slower than a turtle crawling towards Christmas day with it fully loaded.

One could argue that you shouldn't have to load yourself with merchant robe and two t-sacks if you want to maximize your inventory, but there should be some limit on what you can expand the inventory of. The only issue I see is that the entire system would need to be recreated to accommodate this.

I'd probably argue the t-sacks as mandatory, at least, as you are giving up carrying tools for the extra inventory space.

I like the hidden pocket. You should get the item back if you recycle or break the clothing, piece, though. I don't see much use for it but seems interesting.

The downside I see is that, should such a pocket exist, everyone KOed would simply be picked clean to make sure to get it.
