Increase crop growth time + harvest ratios

Postby ricky » Fri Dec 22, 2017 3:10 am

Lots of people complain about the tedium of growing crops - farms are too big, gotta harvest way 2 much.

how about linearly increasing crop output with growth time? 2-4x longer to grow, 2-4x more crop yield. essentially the same outcome, just less replants

The obvious tradeoff here is quality, which, if you keep the "quality increase every harvest" model, will essentially double/triple/quadruple how long it takes to grind crop Q (I however dont necessarily see this as a bad thing)

I can understand how waiting retarded long for crops to grow is also tedium, but i feel there's finally sufficient enough activities to keep busy while you wait for your plants to grow.

Sounds good. Won't be fun at the farmer credo, but good in all all other regards.

No need. The numbers would just grow slower, which wouldn't be that bad in itself.

Could also skew it a bit to perhaps make harvest output over time slightly higher than it is currently? I've had several friends quit the game because they were designated farmers of villages. It's so horrendously boring compared to the many thrills of mining.

Bump because it's one of the best ideas in this board.

-1

the time in takes for crops to grow is fine. if your pals quit because of the workload, then they didnt have enough farmers in their village.

if you want to increase the yield of crops, you might want to suggest fertilizer, or watering them.
Newbie and noob do not mean the same thing.

Neither do figuratively and literally.

Later stages of crops that result in more yield would make giant fields less of a thing. +1

Yes, one could plant few to increase quality and others to use. I like the idea.
