Just a small suggestion, pearls should be gilding same as gems.
But provide small learning ability bonus or speed,not stats/skills.

Would be interesting if there will be second lvl of rarity: a small chance to obtain black pearl instead of regular, with greater gild bonus, or just do it as loot in dungeons.

i mean if they will work as gems - so gildable only in rings, and its pretty impossible to obtain really big q, guess selfbalanced

LP Boost when gilded
Ring of Brodgar gets pearl removed from the recipe and gains two default slots like the druid cape.
Pearl's LP boost is halved if it's in anything but a Ring of Brodgar.

it'd be really cool if pearls were treated like gems and had different sizes.

small pearl, jotun pearl. You can't cut pearls, there are however different qualities based on shape, nacre thickness, etc.
