For making some new currios, light decoration, and maybe tools?

I was thinking, put a lot of animal fat in too a cauldron, let it boil and collect it, can be stored in a bucket when done.
The items i was thinking are

Cave lantern,
any soft metal, glass and flammable oil.
Tool/decoration.

Golden Oil Lamp (like the one from Aladdin)
Gold, gold beater skin, flammable oil.
Table wear

Please leave some suggestion on items,

And add a plant fiber (or yarn) as a wick to the materials.

A handheld, metal lantern would be cool.

Lard was commonly used as a candle in colder climes, and tallow(sheep or cow fat) was used in slightly warmer as it kept it's solidity in higher temps. and boiling the hell out of the fat cuts was how you produced it. Animal fat is a practice that was used in the timeline that Haven is set in, and candles were more expensive. high fat plants such as olives were pressed to produce an oil that was used for anything from light to food to bodybutter.

Lard does have a low melting point and could possibly be used for a liquid fuel if used in a closed container.
