free form building ideas

Postby viznew » Fri Dec 29, 2017 2:33 am

its been racking my mind and i have few hours to kill so i'm just say somethings id like to see in the free form building

(thou i have no idea how will acually work if its gonna be build room by room or wall by wall, id want wall by wall)

ima go off wall by wall(some might cross room by room)

but id like option to make room double high (two storys with no 2nd story) and able to place stuff on upper wall with ladder (why? harder to take and optimal storage, looks)

non proper support leads to part collape

ability to burn it down (thou id perfer it be super slow (2-3 hours to catch and 2-3 hours to spread) chould be fought with buckets of water

and of course windows (but i wanna be able to loower rope from window fron 2nd story if needed)(stole that idea from project zomboid)

triangle floor peices so art work can get fancyier in houses

now this one is a bit crazy, if im outside and player inside near the side of house im at is moving around ill see a blimp on mini map (mabye some false positives)

i had more but after typing most them out thay seem a bit crazy these the less terriable ideas

the good news is HH always does something different from the norm... would be nice to have different building materials resulting in different architectures styles, similar to credos

- wood architecture use logs for huts and cabins
- underground sculpted architecture for the under dwellers, cave style
- stone sculpting on the mountains for Minas Tirith like architecture
- evil looking metal buildings, dark towers with fire pit on top
- fisherman architecture, easy building with shore vegetation, but less strong
- bricks etc etc

ide be ok with prebuilt tilesets that snap into place something similiar to how its done in rust but have a size restriction or something so we dont have obsurd houses everywhere

upon sobering up, i realize wall by wall is prob quite hard to make and confusing

i only really wanted wall by wall for the fire but i think chould work room by room

i retract my
id want wall by wall
statement

but there should be bigger and better "structures" for villages and kingdomes, iv always felt thay need more

i would love different styles "architecture" like credos

I like the new building style in JS, you craft segments and then snap them into place, you can build from wood or metal but here we would be able to use stone. It means you can shape and size your rooms. They have a build limit per base structure. Their wall segments are pretty basic looking, so sort of ugly compared to here but they do have windows, albeit without glass.

I'd really like battlements as it gives it that fort/castle feel.

With the style we have here we could make some beautiful castles. :D
