Farming Ideas: Artificial Insemination

So in real life animal husbandry, there's a breeding method called Artificial insemination.

For those to whom it's not obvious, it's when sperm is collected from the male and introduced into female reproductive tract manually. I think we need a mechanic that would allow to perform that in the game, let's say the player could just right click on a male with any empty vessel(flask, bucket, barrel etc) to collect the material and then right click it on a female of the same species -a fairly simple mechanic to implement.
Pros:
1. No waiting - sometimes it can take hours for animals to start mating.
2. Can ensure that only the highest quality males are breeding.
3. Collected semen can become the new hot trading item on the market.
Cons:
The only thing I can think of is it might make breeding too easy for everyone to do? Solution: there should a limit as to how much sperm can be collected from a single male per day? let's say an amount that could impregnate 3 females modified by cube root(breeding q * DEX * CHA(of the character collecting))?
So that's my idea pretty much, feel free to critique and comment.

While I like the idea, I would give it a bigger "con". Collected DNA is getting "worse" overtime. Rather quickly, so You can't store it as long as You want, use it later and it is still perfectly intact and quality. I would say like, after 1hour (in-game maybe?), it quality starts to drastically drop OR/AND the chance of success of A.I. drops drastically.

And give it like 99%, so that 1% can get angry. Because not everything is known for 100%

Also add random chance that the animal kicks you, and you would die, while you are doing this.
Charisma could décrease the chance.

yes, uncontrollable random chances of certain death are always a good game mechanic, like the "pull hair" mechanic in legacy

Would it fit the timeframe though is the next question?

Got this from google " The first successful experiment with artificial insemination in animals was performed by Italian physiologist Lazzaro Spallanzani, who in 1780, while investigating animal reproduction, developed a technique for artificial insemination in dogs."
might be a bit too late for the time frame (even though we have spooky ghosts) but could be good, +1 from me

Most likely out of the setting of the game, also a simple pen where you put the females and the one male (to simply come back tomorrow) is easier than a convoluted procedure.
