Some bag/pouch that stores some resources better

Im thinking of some kind of bag or pouch for when mining to hold shells, cats gold, gems etc. For when your mining and dont want to travel back every 30 mins cause of gems and shells. Its already bad enough having random slimes and worms pop out and have to swap from pick to sword. So maybe some item that uses hardned leather and cloth to store shells in a bag like how people do belts for waterskins.

TBH I'd just keep cupboards and shit down on the same level I'm mining and carry all the crap up topside when the cupboards were full. A separate pouch would be nice but we have to be careful adding specialized pouches because people will ask for a pouch for all kinds of other shit.

Maybe limit people to have 1 pouch on a chartcer at a time,i mean atm the grandbelt/silkbelts carrying 100 liters of water is abusrd so i dont see a problem of like,a 1x2 pouch that gives room to carry like 15 shells.Again id gate it behind some stuff that takes time to make, maybe even silk or a credo.

Infinite capacity for everything. Containers. Stockpiles. Pouches.

I would like a weight based inventory system: unlimied slots but movement speed reduced by load. But I guess that won't happen ever.

salem has weight based inventory and i never realized how much i disliked it until i played salem for a little while, just results in you carrying obscene amounts of literal garbage you don't need anywhere near you and makes inventory management a joke.

You might just lack the packrat trait ;)

on the contrary it can be argued that i possess too much of the packrat trait, maybe even the hoarder trait because of how often i'd find my inventory filled literally with trash.

p.s. weight would also make a lot of otherwise mundane and simple tasks absolute fucking garbage to endure, such as moving ore by hand without a wheelbarrow, or any kind of construction. i'd actually have a stroke if i had to crawl my way to my smelters from my ore piles.

I've played games with a weight/volume based system for inventory. It has to be done right, and hoarders, packrats, and OCD individuals just need to learn to manage their dysfunctions.

Not saying it'd be good here, just saying it can be done right. I have no opinion anymore on whether I'd prefer it or not.
Opinions expressed in this statement are the authors alone and in no way reflect on the game development values of the actual developers.
