trained birds

Postby viznew » Thu Jan 18, 2018 11:20 pm

(edit) just a few bird ideas

say i train a bird (in a cage possiablly) then i attach it to my wheel barrow (or what ever item i tend to lose all the time)

now when i lose my barrow (cause 100% will happen daily lol)

i click and use bird and it flys towards barrow and kinda flys around till i get close and then bird flys away or something

With the messager bird idea we can hold races based on stats breed into bird mabye

But also chould train to spot people in area

Release bird it flys off, if it spots someone nearby it panics ( fairly noticeable to the person spotted) and flys back to owner in panic mode showing direction spotted (based on unreliable accounts of pigeons spotting snipers in Vietnam war)

Different training method then other

Release bird 50% chance will fly away, if does return get little more trained, making it better at spotting and lower chance to fly away

Not sure about the whole finding stuff thing, but tame birds could be sweet.

Sounds good. Though I'd find it more interesting if we could make caged birds sing and bring us random items like some sort of land fishing.

Which would actually be an excellent secondary use for idle trade birds: viewtopic.php?f=48&t=52448&p=694365

Neither do figuratively and literally.

We need crows and if branded they should return to the spot where they were branded. So if the village has such crows and one grubs several of them when leaves the village, they could be used to mail. Crows could have some small slots where people could leave parchments or small items inside.

Pet magpies could serve that purpose too, along with picking up random stuff.

How would you tame them though?

Make cage put in bird there will be a settling period of like 24 and like 10% the time bird dies from stress

Then after it stops fluttering you click and admire (30sec cool down action thingy) for few days

When bird whistles and some sorta visual for us who can't hear well, when near you, you can then start training as it is now tamed

To train you take bird out walk short distance and let fly back slowly working farther and farther away till it can go the distance you require going too far mean bird is likely to be lost but has a small chance of making it, with q effecting the training distance and chances of a successful longer then can handle flight

Lol probably too much but that's what came to mind

Add a couple of "colorful" bird breeds
and allow players to have pretty, singing birds in little wood houses.

+extra: random experience event to "witness birds singing"

Going back to birds:
feed them, breed them, kill them....
Fine feathers. Spiralable, raisable fine feathers.

To make it better: add the "variable ingredient" system to items that use fine feathers (like helmets or hussar wings) to have different effects depending on the fine feathers used
and then you have new funny and cute birbs to raise and have their special feathers

i dont deserve credit but i think is amazing idea

actually since you hinted on the variable ingredient idea. I do enjoy the thought that different bird feathers attached to the winged helmet or hussar wings might influence or change its attribute gain. As in Str over Agi, or whatever. Obviously could be used for other items, as those were just examples.
