A one handed spear

Was looking through forums and saw this: viewtopic.php?f=48&t=52423&p=693859&hilit=+spear+shield#p693859 and I thought to myself, “huh, this isn’t a thing yet?”




Now I get it, development priorities and all that. However, I was like surely it’s implemented already and I just can’t find any mention of it, and nope, can’t hold a spear and shield at the same time in game. What madness is this!? I guess it would be because the current boar spear is throwable and we don’t want to put a throwable weapon in each hand? And if it is because of this, could we make a war spear? Not meant to be thrown whatsoever, and possibly it’s own finisher like the “cleave” “sting” “ravens bite”? Perhaps to suggest a few words : Skewer? Impale?

Boar spear loses on a little melee weight damage, possible war spear contends with or slightly better than bronze sword? Idk, I’m always in favor of new content, but I’m surprised this isn’t already in game and considered old content by now! It’s 2018 ! Live in the now!

I think new weapons will come with the foreshadowed combat rework of 2k18.

support, i want hastas and whatnot. i could also go for a more powerful two handed spear that doesnt require high marksmanship to avoid softcapping it. because i dont think smiths with high marksmanship exist.

Spears should be one-handed in general, the boar spear is truly a trash-tier, useless weapon.
