I don't quite understand what you imagine the difference would be as compared to buckets.

yea i def shoulda just went with buckets for this reason i agree, my thinking is flawed today, sry about that (my brain sometimes is wonky)

was gonna post more jar ideas but ehhh

actually, if you made a sort of lid, that your character had to pry off, like when the wifey tells you to be the big strong guy and remove the pasta sauce jar lid. You could put it on a timer, and thus remove the concept of being redundant towards buckets, but also allow them to be stored in your inventory. Thus the character wouldnt be able to use them for pvp, as they would have to stand still and wait on a timer to count down before the jar is opened. Idk, food for thought i guess. But atleast you can buy more then one item.
