Village management ideas

Village management stuff is always good. Here are some ideas:

  • New permission: building. Allows people to place build signs;
  • New permission: mining. Allows people to place mineholes (added because there have been a good amount of raids caused by mineholes place by insiders);
  • New permission: stockpiling. Allows people to place and interact with stockpiles;
  • New kind of cairn: property. Works just like a common cairn, but instead of assigning colors to perms, you assign people. This can be quite useful in villages in which there is either lack of space (due to minimum distance of 5 between pclaims), security reasons (need for a personal space for traders in markets) or many people living in it (more people in village than available colors for cairns). I thought of making its UI something like the charter stone list of destinations, but with people names instead. Those names get inserted there by describing them to the property object, and each name can get a completely different set of perms.

Permissions for everything.

I like that there are a limited number of permissions, and that they relate directly to the crimes.

I can understand the need to assign permissions to people who aren't part of the village, but I wonder if the proper solution for that isn't simply to, rather, enable them to erect p-claims in the village in one way or the other.

People tend to build other stuff (like mineholes) the moment they're given permission to build at all, iirc there had been a security nightmare in a certain market...

Sure, one could pre-build the pclaims using an alt and transfer the deed - but that is slow and feels like a workaround - plus it still enables the wrongdoers to build stuff they shouldn't be able to.

These honestly aren't bad idea's and would help a lot with manage future city's.

most of the problems even this world was from spy and traitors getting into the city.
Vetting people is bloody hard, this would make the game much more enjoyable from a traders prospective.

A lot of people in this game have fun with trading. they like trading to markets and they like selling at markets.
but becoming a seller is always the hardest part.

idk this system is a good idea.
