Credo Quest: Pick 1 of 2 to Complete

Postby GamingRAM » Mon Feb 05, 2018 3:18 am

It's been a while since I last played, but I remember with Credos you had to complete an objective in order to get a point. If you didn't like said objective, you'd have to abandon it (and lose a point) in hopes of getting a better quest.

So how about giving credo quests multiple options to complete it and get the point?

For example:

Wave to Bark-Barky Tree.
OR
Tame a cow.

Wave to Barky-Bark-Face.
Tame a cow OR boar.
Fish a cat fish.

Completing either or will award you the point.

In an open world game of this size, you shouldn't be so restrained, there should be a degree of freedom and options to pick from.
World 12: Quit at some point.
World 11: Community Fair Worker
World 10: Co-Founder of the Northern Kingdom, Resident of Emerald City, Founder and Mayor of the Hole of Glory, RamZ's Art Emporium at CF, Member of the CFL Rams.
World 9: Founder of SnoopVille, Resident of Emerald City
World 7: Hermit and Neighbor to a dead Korean

Would be cool if credo quests had more flexibility similar to the numen system. Would be cool if you had 2 or 3 quest options that didn't reset after each quest completion. Would allow you to work on a hard quest while competing other small quests

It sounds to me like this is mainly just to make credos easier, and I'm not sure they need to be made easier.

Alternative Option: Use some magic or an offering to reroll your quest?
Better Option: Use a cash shop item to complete the quest :^)
Clearly you guys aren't thinking with your wallets. I'm ashamed to play your game in the micro-transaction era.

I think ideal is for content to be hard not for reason of withstand frustrate. Perhaps there is some mechanism to maintain difficult, but reduce frustrate.

You could make the alternative "harder" than the primary, but still allowing someone to skip a stupid quest. Like say you're on a quest to study 2 beaver teeth, the alternative is double of another potential quest like deliver 1 of X to quest giver Y, and also deliver 2 to quest giver Z.

I disagree with Jorb that credo quests with really long timers are a relief. There should always be an option to spend active time to advance your credo quest, rather than "wait 50 hours for this curio to finish studying." Currently pursuing something like mystic as your 6th or 7th credo is literally impossible, and not worth trying. The system just encourages using alts for every different aspect of the game. Farming char, tailor char, mining char, etc.

Would not, in principle, mind alternate quest goals.

They don't.

They need to be removed. They are the least incentivizing, most arbitrary list of unfun, stupid menial tasks for the shittiest, most necessary passive buffs.

Credos are shit. Universally, shit. Especially when they take 8 fucking tasks to get a single point, for a thing that takes 12 points for a single level.

The dumbest part of this shitty system is that it rewards suicide for the sake of its completion.

I will be looking to add more, then, since you like them so much. <3
