Forum Meta - funposting subforum

Postby Massa » Tue Feb 06, 2018 7:08 pm

A lot of posters here enjoy a good old shitpost.

The suggestion is simple. A funposting subforum that lets us not be banned for fun shitposts. Those posts being reminiscent of the forums before Granger got his rifle and exterminated all of the funnies in Europe.

The rules would be the same, but the whole forum dedicated to the drivel that fueled the community in previous worlds, from broken English slavposting to most of my post history.

This is call The Moot or Inn of Brodgar already.

As the lone moderator, I'm explicitly neither for nor against it. I might say I lean toward being for, but then it'd still need to be moderated because someone always has to push the limits of comedy and drama.
Opinions expressed in this statement are the authors alone and in no way reflect on the game development values of the actual developers.

Newbie and noob do not mean the same thing.

Neither do figuratively and literally.

If only there were some sort of Lone Hero who could help you this task
“We still, alas, cannot forestall it-
This dreadful ailment's heavy toll;
The spleen is what the English call it,
We call it simply, Russian soul.”

An idea to consider: Tedium, a Feature.

It's a fine idea that concentrates the dog shit and gets people having fun as a community. It's literally a banterbus. I remember rivalries weren't so hot and full of hate when 1) The #1 antagonist wasn't a 12 year old furry, and 2) we could funpost.

It would concentrate a lot of your efforts, though. That said, spillage might be a factory to consider.

If you can't handle behaving on the forum, don't post. It's that simple. If you want to post your swastikas and call each other names all day, keep it to your discord servers.

Exhibit A.

Fixed that for you. Most don't, based on the reports I have seen over the years and the PMs I got the last days where people ask me to come back to end the shitposters for good.

I would support a creation of a Cesspool (as jorb named it fittingly a while back), given that any leniency on posts made in the rest of the forum (possibly with Moot excluded - as long as it revolves around, and keeps at, in-game events) ceases to exist - and there would be a way to keep it out of active topics listing should one decide to (activated by default so one would need to opt-in on the idiots).
