Siege Suggestions In light of Aurora's Fall

After reading this post, I can agree that the current system is really time cosuming for both attackers and defenders. But, on my perspective, the defender side is which suffers more from the time lenght. So, I guess sieges should be kind like of it was ( trying to get angles and different approachs) but with a limited time.

What do you think about it village / realm being able to CHOOSE which time it can be attacked, giving them the time to really be there and defend?

My suggestion would be like this:

On the creation of a village/realm, you need to choose the time there you will be able to defend for 4 hours straight and, to be fair to the attacker, give it other times where he could do some damage which some kind of advantage.

Scenario:

On my village creation, I selected that I will be able to defend on 01:00 UTC. So, based on it, any attacker should be able to attack from 01:00 to 05:00. Besides that, the attacker would have more 2 times to attack for ONE HOUR: 6 Hours before the defender selected time and 10 hours AFTER the selected time.

Like this:

Main attack time: 01:00 - 05:00
Extra attack time: 19:00 - 20:00
Extra attack time: 11:00 - 12:00

In the meantime, on the time sets that the village / realm could not be attacked, make the siege weapons "subscribed" indestructible and unable to build things around it AND defender should be unable to regen shield. To subscribe an catapult to siege, it should be like a skill or something with high cost.

tl;dr: Defenders choose time frames that allows be attacked, attackers need to declare the attack and TRY TO include a mechanic that would prevent some alts.

Tbh I really hate this idea. I cannot express how many times I saw this idea and cringed even more than the current siege problems. In all out honesty, me being one of the people spending most of my time at the siege of Aurora, there’s two issues with the mechanics.

Sieges are ridiculously time consuming and material consuming for any village.

Sieges are the same regardless of the village size or importance. Aurora fell in the same time it takes siege some random settlement placed in the world.

In all out honesty, size of village by members in ratio to land ownership should matter in sieges. Like if you own a lot of land but very little members it should be easier to siege, you own very little land to a lot of members it is harder for siege. Members also take time such as a 24-48 your period before this is calculated and only the members on within 8 hours count towards this shield.

Second, the ability to siege at any given time is something that happens real life and I feel is very important to be added to this game. If someone wants to siege at any time they should be given this opportunity. It is just a reflection on real mechanics which I and many others like in Hafen. We don’t need some subscribe time from some mmorpg like other games mentioned here since Hafen is it’s own game which is what makes this such a unique game... A better suggestion is limit the time it takes to siege so an attacker has x many chances/or period of time when they start and if they fail to do so in this time it sets a cool down such as 24 to 48 hours before they can attempt again and if they are successful then the claim is down for 24-48 hours to give the attackers time to destroy it or do what ever.

Pclaims only count as 1 person in that ratio mentioned above to discourage large pclaims over entire villages as a second shield... since smaller member ratio with large area is easier to siege.
