It seem to me there is so much superstition in this world of live. Where it is superstition in beloved Haven and Hearth? Why our arm is shackled to prevent casting of lot? I think all hearthling should have ability to cast his own lot in live, and suggest that we do add some ability for lot casting!
I think we should be allow to designate some table for casting these lot by cover with pure white table cloth. When table is use, we may collect up some branch from fruit tree as lot, and cast it upon table. After this lot has been cast, the result can be interpret. To do reading for own character is using WIL + PSY stats, to give this reading to other character is CHA + PSY stats. Some example result:
- You will slay mighty beast! (Next time you fight big animal you gain bonus damage.)
- Next harvest is full of bounty! (Chance to trigger while harvest crop to get crop with above average quality gain.)
- You see boat crushed in powerful rapids! (Increase chance to find Peculiar Flotsam.)
- Today is day of good luck fortune! (Chance to trigger while mining to get above average gemstone.)
Goal of suggesting is to give some mechanic to encourage player to do task he maybe does not do frequently, without feel like he must do it as with quest or credo task. Just some fun time fortune to break up some routines that can be ignored if it is not some thing you like to do. Maybe can do some thing like different type of branch affect result somehow too.
I think this divination is important trope and should be represent in Haven in some way!
