New Tool: Catching Net

Postby Onep » Sat Feb 17, 2018 9:50 am

One thing I hate about catching rabbits is they're so quick. On grass tiles, you can usually catch them on 4th speed, but in forest it's typically a crap-shoot. And if you're on a horse, good luck taking the fucker alive.

So I was thinking, what if we had a catching net as a tool to catch little critters on horseback and avoid stomping them to death? It does seem silly to be able to catch a rabbit on horseback, but if you had a net, it wouldn't be so implausible. The net would help with acquiring little critters alive. It could possible extend click range while on foot to help catch bugs. It's always annoying when you're chasing a dragonfly on foot and he does a 150* turn on you and barely slips by out of reach.

ps.
I did a cursory search for net-related ideas, didn't see anything.
“We still, alas, cannot forestall it-
This dreadful ailment's heavy toll;
The spleen is what the English call it,
We call it simply, Russian soul.”

An idea to consider: Tedium, a Feature.

Yeah catching net is a must for flying critters and fun ... Slaem & Hearth, should be way more difficult to pick them by hands and easier with the catching net.

For ground critters I propose you a different thing, tell me if you like it ...

Throw stones by hands as a new mechanic that stun small critters for some seconds and give you a chance to pick them up alive, while can be used to provoke also other chracters :D ... tou should be very low accurate and hard to land succesfull shot.
Make friends with the other crabs or try to escape the bucket.

I have considered it before. Would be Zeldaesque. Will consider!
