World bosses!

Huge mobs that should have no-clip. Provide great reward in LP/XP for all participants that come to kill it and actually do something besides only aggro. Huge amounts of HP, huge amounts of AoE damage. Random spawn in the world similar to dungeons.

Dragons and/or sea snakes like Jormungand.

This is idea that appeared during stream. Just making a topic here to make it easier to track.

on one hand it sounds cool to be menaced by a dragon or something thats stealing your livestock so you have to go kill it.

on the other hand, everyone would live underground in response to this. so no fucking support unless these world bosses stay the hell away from villages.

seriously, no one would build above ground ever again if some boss could come along and kill everyone and wreck their buildings and walls.

theres also the possibility of people luring these bosses to enemy villages and using those AOE attacks to kill their enemies. they could just keep throwing alts on horses at it to lure it.

Roaming bosses and rare spawns would be nice

White boars/bears, dragons and whatnot

Basically let's forget about slavian myths, let's just add random mobs from diablo.

PS: Theese bosses could just stick to one biome, for example 1 boss spawns in big grassland and it won't ever leave this grassland.

There's a really simple solution to what you're worried about Synaris. It's enough to limit the max pull range for the mob, make it always return to one single point in the map that it spawned in after somebody got too far. To prevent cheesing with that - also make boss regen HP rapidly while he's 'reset' like that.

If this is added it will obviously not work like a roaming bear..
My bet is it will either be inside of a small area like a dungeon, outside world borders or otherwise usually inaccessible place .
Or, just make it so that the boss either doesn't agro by himself, gives you a timer, or maybe even it's a sleeping dragon guarding a chest and when you open it the fight starts.

actually, I think I like that idea, but make the chest locked until after fight so that people wont take stuff and gtfo.

also since we don't have a loot rolling mechanic in haven, and these fights would be intended for people who might not be teamed up before, what does everyone else think about possible rewards from it besides xp or lp?
or should it just be normal chests and have to trust people to share (if 50%~ of those events end in a pvp bloodbath for greed i'd be ok, any more than that and it'd be a problem imo.)
