Bee sting wound

Postby Tammer » Thu Mar 01, 2018 4:29 pm

Bee sting wound, goes away over time or treatable by yarrow.

Obtained by extracting honey or wax from a beehive. Chance reduced by wearing gloves.

Possibly: when you extract honey or wax, there is a small chance to convert a nasty wart to a beesting. Maybe swollen bumps too.

Could also give a stinger curio similar to the cruel splinter.

already suggested plenty of times, i think jorb said it would happen.
Newbie and noob do not mean the same thing.

Neither do figuratively and literally.

Not a bad idea!

Idea is not bad, but the current implementation is.

I decided to collect all honey and wax from our farms beehives, well I got quite a bunch of beestings and decided to treat some of them with ant paste. Only at 30 hhp I noticed what was happening. my 300hhp character was damaged 270hhp by beestings (and a bit by ant paste used to treat them). That character almost died!

It it ridiculous.

But it is not going to happen again.
I am currently spawning a new character, an alt to collect honey and wax in the future. An alt, that will probably repeatedly die and needs to be re spawned.
Is this how you want your game to be played?

Just because you have 2 beehives in your LARP place and you think the mechanic is ok doesn't mean that it is ok. Think of villages where there are larger fields to feed bunch of people.

They are also very slow to heal and treating them is difficult, because there are so many wounds to treat. Ant paste deals hhp dmg and making kelp cream is kind of stupid because it requires you to use all that wax that you just collected...

Do you not understand that the wounds get bigger after the first sting? You are supposed to stop collecting after the first sting and resume after the wound has healed, which doesn't take long. If you really need wax urgently for something and your main collector has a bee sting, you can use a different character.

This works fine until about 15-20 hives, then the average of wax produced per day gets higher than the average of what you can collect. So you need at least one farmer/wax collector character per 20 hives, which is fine.

So the mechanic is fine, the problem is probably more your lack of game knowledge.

It's a good way to make larpy graveyards from dead alts. Working as intended of course.

If they add a farming requirement, no worries, just put on some shitty gear and curio and keep suiciding.
