mangel grinder / Mangel wurzels (animal feed idea)

after hearing about mangel grinders i struggled with learning about that and this beet came up

Contemporary use is primarily for cattle, pig and other stock feed, although it can be eaten – especially when young – by humans. Considered a crop for cool-temperate climates, the mangelwurzel sown in autumn can be grown as a winter crop in warm-temperate to sub-tropical climates. Both leaves and roots may be eaten. Leaves can be lightly steamed for salads or lightly boiled as a vegetable if treated like English spinach. Grown in well-dug, well-composted soil and watered regularly, the roots become tender, juicy and flavourful. The roots are prepared boiled like potato for serving mashed, diced or in sweet curries. Animals are known to thrive upon this plant; both its leaves and roots provide a nutritious food. George Henderson, a 20th-century English farmer and author on agriculture, described mangel beets as one of the best fodders for dairying, as milk production is maximized.

The mangelwurzel has a history in England of being used for sport,[5] for celebration, for animal fodder and for the brewing of a potent alcoholic beverage. The 1830 Scottish cookbook The Practice of Cookery includes a recipe for a beer made with mangelwurzel

Fascinating! Could consider, at least, but I'm not entirely sure it adds much beyond the normal beets.

well in my mind was to give more feed (so when grind it somehow it makes more swill then throwing stuff straight in( for the mangel grinder at least))
(cause i do want a smaller farm to feed my animals even if q is worst then other stuff)

that beet is is praised for feeding animals (except horse who shouldnt eat more then one a day thou horses do like them and its often given to them as a treat)

old time and current farmers love it

lol claim it to be potato subsitute lol
I've grown and eaten this for three years now and am totally in favour of it. Roast or mash it like potato for predictable results

also its is highly suggested for better milk from cows
(so mabye it chould effect that if that even worth it)

when seasons added it was one of the few winter feeds as it keeps well when oxygen (basicly) is kept away normally thay bury it

idk why im trying to defend it but i do want more crops and there is not many odd ones i chould suggest so theres this and prob one or two more in furture ill post

Perhaps it could be added in along with a way to selectively breed crops to improve/specialize them into new breeds? ....Horticulturist Credo, maybe?
