Post-Creation Character Change

Postby kittenkarate » Thu Mar 08, 2018 12:37 am

I've seen a few posts about this, but the topic hasn't been touched since 2016, so here I go!

I was wondering if it would be possible to implement post-creation character changes, especially since it has no consequence on player stats.

It could even have some cool implementations if you think of realism.

Hair could grow out (bald-short-long-messy) and need a cut every few weeks/months. (That includes beards for men).

Maybe put in scissors or shears to use, along with maybe a vanity desk or mirror? You'd have to use both in order to change your character's hair/beard.

If it's too much trouble to implement all of that, the addition of a mirror to use in order to change a character's hair would be nice, too!

It just seems a shame for the new hairstyles to be added without the chance to try them out on an old character. :D

Thanks for the thought!

I would give money just to be able to change my character's hair like during character creation.

Completely against being able to change gender -- everyone knows that that is impossible -- but hairstyling could be a thing one way or another.

Imho very good idea with many possible ways of implementaion:
- it can be just donate item with limited charges that let any character who use it to open hair style/color choose menu again, if developers just need more money rn.
- it mb be implemented as pools from character creation screen some of which will just spawned around the world and let anyone who come to them to change their hair style/color with some cooldown (like local resource nodes) for free or after some quest, if developers want to get players another reason to travel around the world or do quests.
- it can be done as some work station (called cosmetic table for example) which let character to change his hair style/color as interaction with it and let him fix his appearance on regular intervals to get some long lasted, small, but useful buff (to his charisma or learning speed for example) which depends on Q of table.
- and afterall it mb action which can be used on character itself or on another character (after his permission or as some humilation against KO'ed), which let change targeted character hair style/color. To make this variant more fun developers may allow to players load some sort of pictures (for donate money ofc) which will be used by game to make completely custom hair styles/colors. It may lead to apperance of some kind of barber in Haven, what will be awesome.

I'm also against being able to just up and change gender, but hairstyling would be fun!
Especially if you think about the possibility of it growing out! There could be hairstyles for each tier you grow it out!
And you'll know if someone hasn't been on in a while, because they'd have the messy/wild haircut.

I don't buy more hats because I hate my characters face. Take my money to change my face and then take more of my money for hats that I'd buy.
