Player Branding

Goal: Give Players Alternative To Player Killing

Picture this scenario:

Someone steals your beloved horse, off your own property no less, as an alternative to locating and murdering them, knock 'em out and use a branding iron on them - queue game's intro into the flames screaming audio clip which can be heard by other players for some distance and leave a minor permanent wound on the player similar to "Nasty Wart".

What do you guys think?

And kill him after, yes.
It's not solution to anything - it's just another way to humilate someone without any relation to his crimes.
U should just accept that Haven is no law wild lands (excepting some rare areas) and play with it - there is no jail, no courts and no police. Strong is right and can do almost anything with weak and his belongings here.
Someone weak offend u - pay him back as much as u wish.
Someone strong attack u - run, or u are dead meat.
If u want some kind of public payback - ask for implementing of gallows.

beside, no. I would imagine top fighters wanting to brand some top fighters, but it would lead to nothing, ear rape those who still play with sounds and not fun, poor noobs.

Then how about this - you can only brand with a crime scent like theft, vandalism, or murder. Also the screen should shake. Essentially functioning as a pardon. An angry pardon.

It would be cool if you could brand people with a village brand, the effect would be that you cant do any harm to anyone from that village or its property.
So basically people would run around and branding any warrior they can find so they wont do damage to their village.

player branding.
it's been talked about before and it's pretty useless to use vs enemy's.


if you change the idea to villagers or kingdom so that people can not engage on other people from the kingdom even after they've left, or were not part of.
basiclly brand an enemy and the enemy can no longer fight your kingdom.
then that would be semi interesting.

or another old idea is if you brand someone.
you can always track them via the branding iron.
