I wish to compost some. Wood and wood products are compostable irl, right?

Wood is extremely slow to compost. Only a few insects eat it*, and the fungi and mosses that grow on it don't break down the fibrous materials much, just leech nutrients out. It's not recommended to add wood or wood mulch to compost piles because of that.

*Of the insects that do eat it, you don't want them nesting near your house--termites, carpenter ants, and such.
Opinions expressed in this statement are the authors alone and in no way reflect on the game development values of the actual developers.

Every time I see one of your posts I feel like I'm learning something.

Barks main function is to protect the core of the tree from environment, animals/insects and such. So it makes sense that few animals, if any, eat it.

Bark bread
Then compost the bread

That technically would be a use or it, but I can just make higher quality bread from plain flour with no additives if I want to compost my flour.

Another use for bark might be nice.

Bark breaks down a lot faster than the actual wood of a tree. Its not as dense, and has already been exposed to the elements for some time. If its wet and on the ground it'll break down pretty quick, so I support this. Could be argued that compost should have water added to it, as most compost irl don't do much without being kept moist as well as being rotated now and then.

Shitty bark armor has been a staple of RPGs for ever.

Would be good for the sprucecap, even if just to teach them how armor works before they get leather
